The café setting and special entrance on the 11th Street
side of the library allows movie patrons a relaxed and comfortable
atmosphere. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for coffee and desserts. Films
will begin at 6:30 p.m. after Mr. Clapp gives the audience a film
review and the reasons he selected the film for inclusion in the
Director’s Cuts series. Admission is a suggested donation
of $1. Coffee and desserts will be priced separately. All proceeds
will be used to buy new materials for the library’s Fine
Arts collection.
August 31 - Empire of the Air - One of Ken Burns' earliest and best documentaries, Empire of the Air covers the transition from home-made music to radio, and the large corporations founded to support it.
