Friends of the LibraryBook SalesThe main source of revenue for the Friends of the Hamilton-County Bicentennial Library is through book sales. Each year the Friends sponsor used book sales at the Northgate Mall. Smart shoppers and book lovers throughout the area find fantastic bargains there. Donated and discarded books, magazines, encyclopedia sets, various types of electronic media, and many other items are available at unbelievably low prices. There are more than 30,000 used books, movies, and other media in over 60 categories. The last day of the sale is bag day. The Friends could also use your help staffing the sales table. If you’d like to work a 4-hour shift (9:00-1:00; 1:00-5:00; or 5:00-9:00) weekdays, or a 3-hour shift on Sunday (12:00-3:00 and 3:00-6:00), please call Mary Aleta Word, the Volunteer Coordinator, at 757-5425. If you would like to volunteer to help with future book sales, please call the Friends' office at (423)757-5425. Categories you will see at the book sale:
*Fiction books are now categorized semi-alphabetically by author -- A-B, C-E, F-H, I-L, M-N, O-R, S-V, and W-Z. Donations are always welcome! If you would like to donate items for the library or the sale, bring them to the Circulation Desk at the Main Library or to any of our four branches. For larger donations, please call the Friends' office at (423)757-5425 for further directions. All donations for the book sale and the library are tax-deductible. Return to Friends' Homepage
