Bi-Lo
on Highway 153 Raises $2, 333 for
Northgate Branch Library
The Northgate staff sends a heartfelt thank you to the Hwy 153 Bi-Lo and Store Manager Terry Jeffers. With Mr. Jeffers help, Herb Cohn and Friends of the Library Volunteers successfully raised $2,333. All proceeds will go toward materials for the Northgate Branch Library.
Bi-Lo is still offering their shoppers a chance to contribute 1% of the money spent in all their stores to the library. Bar codes are available at all library locations. Just take a copy of the bar code to any Bi-Lo store and ask the sales clerk to enter it into your customer account.

See Our New Read Aloud Mural
There's something new inside the Storyroom: a treehouse with ants! It's our new Read Aloud mural painted by artist Gale Hinton. The mural was donated to the staff and patrons of the Northgate Library by Read Aloud Chattanooga, an independent learning motivation initiative whose primary goal is "to dramatically increase the incidence and quality of reading aloud to our youngest children."

Regular Activities
Preschool Story Hour
Two sessions on Tuesdays - 10:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m.
Children should be 3 to 5 years old and able to attend the story hour on their own. Parents should be nearby in the library. No registration is required. Check the Children's Programs page for more information.
Adventure Club
Thursdays, 4:00 p.m.
Adventure Club allows children the opportunity to develop their imaginations through book-related activities. Activities are designed for children ages 6 to 10. Younger children are welcome to participate but must be accompanied by an adult.
Lapsit
Three times a year, seasonally
Lapsit is designed for children 18 to 36 months old and registration is required. Please visit the Northgate Branch or call the Children's Department at 757-5314 to register or for more details. Class size is limited!
