First Thursday Free Family Films

Beginning January 2010, our Free Family Film will only
be shown on the 1st Thursday afternoon of each month at 4:00.
As always, you may bring your own popcorn or snack and drinks with lids.

This film chronicles the adventures of George, a curious little monkey, as he befriends Kayla, a baby elephant, at a magic circus show and helps her travel across the country to be reunited with her family. Accompanied by his friend, the Man with the Yellow Hat, George travels by foot, train, and truck to reach Kayla's brother and sister in California. Rated G, 80 min.

Onn the First Tuesday of Each Month @ 4:00
Archer is a 9-year-old Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) and a working certified therapy dog who belongs to library patron, Millie Hammer. Archer is a popular visitor to Life Care of Collegedale nursing home and he will be coming to the library to read with children as part of a Therapy Dogs International program called “Tail-Waggin’ Tutors.”
Preschool Story Hour
Mondays - 10:30 a.m.
Two sessions on Tuesdays - 10:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m.
Children should be 3 to 5 years old and able to attend the story hour on
their own. Parents should be nearby in the library. No registration is required.

Adventure Club
Wednesdays, 4:00 p.m.
Adventure Club allows
children the opportunity to develop their imaginations through book-related
activities. Activities are designed for children ages 6 to 10. Younger children
are welcome to participate but must be accompanied by an adult.
Lapsit
Call the Children's Department at 757-5314 to register
or for more information about schedules. Class size is limited.
Lapsit is designed for children
18 to 36 months old and registration is required. Please contact the Ooltewah-Collegedale
Branch or the Children's Department for more details.
