Making your contribution
through a gift of appreciated securities
This may be a perfect opportunity for you to
consider making a contribution with the use of appreciated securities. When you donate securities directly to the Friends of the
Library Endowment Fund, you are not required to pay federal capital gains
tax on their appreciated value. You are allowed a charitable deduction on
the full value of your gift. Donating stock will accomplish the same charitable
goals as cash, while providing you with important tax savings. Please give
serious consideration to this important gift option. Please consult your tax
advisor to determine your particular tax advantage. Contact the Community Foundation
(423) 265-0586 for directions on making a gift of stock.
